Ronald Lorde

RL 2S8A5652

Dear Residents of St Philip South:

My name is Ronald Lorde and I am honoured that you would consider me to be your representative in Parliament.

I was born, grew up and currently reside and work in this constituency.  I am concerned about the increasing levels of crime, including break-ins and car thefts.  I am also concerned about the limited support for small-farmers, the poor access to some communities, and the limited job opportunities.

Many of these issues are not peculiar to us in St Philip South, but to Barbados generally. However, we are simply reminded of them every five years, but no effective solutions are implemented.

I have over 2 decades of experience as a businessman, and I believe that my experience has prepared me to solve problems both in our constituency and nationally.  I pledge to you I will faithfully represent your concerns.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in St Philip South.    It may be downloaded below.

Irvin Belgrave

IB 2S8A5640

Dear Residents of Christ Church West:

My name is Irvin Belgrave and I am honoured that you would consider me to be your representative in Parliament.  I am also thankful that SOLUTIONS BARBADOS is running a godly group of candidates.

Many have hoped for change, only to be disappointed after each election.  For too long you have not had a voice in the discussion of your affairs.  I pledge to you that I will faithfully represent you and your interests.

My experience is varied, having lived, studied and worked overseas, worked for over thirty years in the Public Service in Barbados, and established a small business.  I have lived in Christ Church West and am well-aware of the main problems challenging this constituency.

I will aim to: increase employment opportunities, eradicate poverty, root out crime, enhance community cohesiveness, contribute to the tourism product, and make Christ Church West very prominent in rebuilding the good name of Barbados. So, please remember the name Irvin Belgrave on election day.

I believe that righteousness exalts (elevates) a nation.  There was a time when Barbados was viewed favourably by every country in the Caribbean. We have fallen from that lofty status, but with your help, we can regain it.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

Lana Toussaint

LT 2S8A5601

Dear Residents of St Michael West:

My name is Lana Toussaint and I am honoured that you would consider me to be your representative in Parliament.

I grew up in this constituency, and I am distressed at the number of businesses that have closed over the years.  I am also concerned about the increasing levels of crime, and the limited job opportunities available.

Many of these issues are not peculiar to us in St Michael West, but to Barbados generally. However, we are simply reminded of them every five years, but no effective solutions are implemented.

I have maintained and monitored the accounts of diverse Barbadian and international businesses over the past 26 years, and I believe that my experience has prepared me to solve problems both in our constituency and nationally.  I pledge to you that I will faithfully represent you and your concerns.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

Paul Gibson

PG 2S8A5594

Dear Residents of St Michael South:

Thank you for considering me as your representative in the upcoming general election.

My over 25 year journey as a Pharmacist, Businessman, Chief Executive Officer and Marketer has given me the privilege to work across the Caribbean region.  It has also exposed me to diverse political landscapes, governments, national economies and individuals.  I can now see how these experiences have shaped and informed my thinking to better serve you, the people of St Michael South – including constituents who reside overseas.

I have served as:

  • President of The Barbados Pharmaceutical Society.
  • President, Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship Int’l – Accra Chapter.
  • General Manager, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer for various Regional and Local Companies.
  • Directorship Post on Several Boards, including 2 terms with the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation
  • Graduate of the University of Technology with a BSc in Pharmacy.

I want you to benefit from my experiences in the international corporate world and from Jamaica, where I lived for over 14 years.  In Jamaica, I saw how poor economic policies negatively impacted a country and its people.  I am determined to ensure that all Barbadians are speared the unnecessary austerity that both established political parties are telling us to prepare for.

I believe that serving God and man are key components to fulfilling one’s purpose.  I also believe that Barbados can rise to New Dimensions of success.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

Betty Howell

BH 2S8A5430-2

Dear Residents of St Michael East:

My name is Betty Howell and I am honoured that you would consider me to be your representative in Parliament.

Having experience in banking and publishing, and more recently being the owner of a grocery store in this constituency, I am acutely (and sometimes painfully) aware of the financial needs of some residents. Very frequently I am privy to many personal accounts of hardship experienced by persons from all walks of life. There is a sense of disillusionment and near hopelessness at the decline in morals and values. There is also increasing concern in their monetary fortunes due to the current economic conditions.

As a wife and mother for over thirty years, and having grown up in a very modest household, I can easily identify with the struggles, hopes and dreams of working class families. My life-experience has prepared me to offer you a high standard of representation, and I pledge to offer you sterling representation that will not only ensure the development and enhancement of this constituency, but also lead to progress at the national level.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

John Carter

JC 2S8A5423-2

Dear Residents of St Lucy:

I am Rev. John Wesley Carter and I am honoured that you would consider me to be your representative in Parliament.

As I attend prayer meetings across Barbados, a common prayer is for an improvement in the economy and for God to raise up righteous, competent and qualified men and women of God to lead this nation. That time is now.

We need representation that is solutions oriented and depends on God’s wisdom.  I believe that my background and experience fit me for this task.

I have been involved in church ministry, education and business for the past 50 years.  As an educator, I have taught full-time at three secondary schools. I currently teach part-time at a private secondary school and volunteer as a tutor at Her Majesty’s Prison, Dodds in their rehabilitation program. I have also tutored at the Wesleyan Bible College, Guyana and Southern Wesleyan University, South Carolina, USA.

In the private sector, I have worked in various management positions and as a consultant tasked with productivity improvements.  As a Minister of the Gospel, I have pastored churches in Barbados, Belize, North Carolina, USA and Trinidad and Tobago.

I care passionately about the development and wellbeing of my fellow Barbadians and the people of St Lucy in particular. In this regard, I would like to see: more agricultural land in St Lucy producing food; households planting some food crops; improved road maintenance; development of recreational seaside properties; and heightened ecotourism projects which can provide jobs and opportunities for business development.

Why St Lucy?  My wife and I are building our home in St Lucy, to which we expect to relocate soon. Since St Lucy is at the head of Barbados, with its unspoilt beauty, it should lead Barbados’ development. I stand ready to assist.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

Ann Marie Weatherhead

Ann Marie

Dear Residents of Christ Church East:

My name is Ann Marie Weatherhead, and I am humbled that you would consider me to represent you in Parliament.

I am a business manager, who has had a successful 20-year career in hotel management and management in the broadcasting sectors.  Over the last 15 years, my husband and I have built and managed a successful radio broadcast media company, as well as several other local, regional and international business ventures. I am a wife, mom, sister, daughter, and radio morning host.

The most memorable years of my life were spent living in this constituency. This is where I raised my son, married my husband, and began my radio career. I love people, and adore children. I especially enjoy interacting with them in my job on the radio.

I am especially concerned about the rising crime levels and the limited job opportunities in Christ Church East.  I pledge to listen to your concerns and faithfully represent your interests.  You will find in me a woman who loves and serves God, her family and her country, and is extremely passionate about preserving and enhancing the well-being of all Barbadians.

Kenneth Lewis

KL 2S8A5399-2

Dear Residents of Christ Church West Central:

My name is Kenneth Lewis and I am humbly honoured to be considered by you, to be your representative in Parliament, so that your voice can be heard.

Over the past 29 years I have been employed in the manufacturing sector, starting as a joiner/machinist. I then became a Supervisor in one of the largest furniture companies at the time.  I am now the owner of a small business that manufactures kitchen cabinets. I have spent some of my best and cherished years in this constituency, where my father previously lived.

I would like to restore, with your help, the constituency and Barbados we once knew – when there was peace, love, kindness, being your brother’s keeper and being able to afford daily needs to facilitate healthy living.  I am very concerned about the level of hopelessness in many of our youth, the limited job opportunities available, and the increasing levels of violence.

These issues are not peculiar to us in Christ Church West Central, but to Barbados. However, we are simply reminded of them every 5 years, but no solutions are implemented.  I pledge to you that I will faithfully represent your concerns.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

Daniel Chalbaud

DC 2S8A4646-2

Dear Residents of St James Central:

My name is Daniel Chalbaud, and I am honoured that you would consider me to be your representative in Parliament.

My business focuses mainly on the construction, restoration and beautification of private homes and businesses. My thoughts are usually about how to make things better, regardless of what it is.

I am no stranger to the St James Central constituency since it is where I conduct most of my business. I travel the roads, in and throughout neighbourhoods, and around business and common areas on a daily basis. As a detail oriented person, I see and feel the deterioration of the infrastructure and public services, and I believe that we can do better.

I care deeply about the proper functioning of our infrastructure and the economical restoration of our historical buildings, cultural landmarks and public spaces. I am also greatly concerned about the environmental effects of unsustainable waste management and energy practises.  I want St James Central to be one of the safest places to live and work in Barbados.

I have come to know God through personal hardships which has shifted my life focus to serving others rather than on myself. I care deeply about what people go through and have tended to make myself available wherever there is a need.  I am a doer and a fixer, and that is why I am offering myself to you, the residents in St James Central.  I am not your typical politician, but a man with your best interests at heart, and I pledge to you that I will faithfully represent your concerns.

We have delivered a flyer and mini-manifesto to each house in this constituency.    It may be downloaded below.

Leighton Greenidge

LG 2S8A4626-2

Dear Residents of St Philip West:

My name is Leighton Greenidge and I am deeply honoured to be considered by you to be your representative in Parliament.

Some of you may know me from my years as a student at the Princess Margaret High School, others may know me from my association with Wendy Alleyne and the Dynamics, which I founded in the early 70’s, and many of you may have known my dad, Milton Greenidge, who was actively involved in community development during the 60s, 70s and 80s, and was a member of the Southern District Council. Since then I have gone on to obtain an electrical engineering degree and owned a successful electrical contracting firm for 18 years.

While not knowing it at the time, I can look back and see how I have been prepared to serve you at this time.  I have been a resourceful businessman, skilled in identifying, resolving and implementing solutions. I was able to complete multiple projects properly, on time, and to the quality demanded by Government regulators.

I am a hard worker, and I pledge that I will work hard for you and faithfully represent your interests.  I want to facilitate better job opportunities and a greater level of safety in St Philip West.  We have policies that can do this, which are included in our mini-manifesto, which can be downloaded below.
