Dear Residents of St Joseph:
Thank you for considering me to represent your interest and be your voice in Parliament.
I grew up in the rural part of Barbados, just a stone’s throw away in the neighbouring parish of St. John, where my fondest memories and values were established as a child. I lived in a close knit community where people worked hard, appreciated and looked out for each other, just like the people of St. Joseph.
I am deeply concerned about the level of disengagement experienced by you over the years by both established parties. I am no longer interested in sitting on the sidelines, complaining why the rural communities are being abandoned. This is why I have chosen to step out, to seek to make a difference and to provide you with the kind of representation you deserve.
I have spent aspects of my career developing community initiatives and helping people start and grow small-businesses. St. Joseph is a great parish and I am committed to seeing it reach its greatest potential. I promise to listen to your concerns and use my over 20 years of experience as a business professional in the fields of communications and business development to your benefit.
The greatest advice about leadership is found in the Bible. It states that, “whoever wants to be a leader among you must first be your servant.” I can see how my accumulative experience has prepared me to serve you, the resilient people of St. Joseph. My faith in God makes me accountable to Him in this role in which I desire to serve.
Learn more about my vision for St. Joseph and when I will be in your area at www.jenniferhighland.com and Facebook which will be up and running soon. #Let’s Build St. Joseph Together! #Let’s Move Forward Together!
